Running an amusement park isn’t the easiest thing in the world. On one hand, there are certain rides that everyone expects. On the other hand, people demand novelty. You can’t just have the same rides, looking exactly the same, as every other amusement park. Your customers will quickly get bored.

Yet if you don’t have certain standard rides, people will also decide your amusement park isn’t that great. You need to have things like ferris wheels, roller coasters, and bumper cars. People expect to have those rides at every amusement park they go to, and if you don’t have them you may be out of luck and in trouble. What is there to do? How do you manage to give your customers novelty while still keeping the kinds of rides that they expect?

The answer isn’t to add a huge number of new rides that barely draw customers. The answer, instead, is to try tracking down vintage bumper cars!

It may seem like an odd idea, trying to give your customers novelty with something vintage. After all, isn’t the definition of vintage that it’s something old? If your customers are looking for something new, and you give them something old, won’t it drive your customers away? That is not the case! Many people these days find a great deal of entertainment in the novelty of vintage items. They enjoy looking back at the things their parents and grand parents did, and experiencing those same experiences.

Given that, vintage bumper cars are a great idea! They allow you to have one of the standard, expected rides, but also let you put a twist on them. They’re not just any bumper cars, they’re bumper cars with history. You could set up your ride in such a way as to showcase that history. You could put up plaques and pictures that talk about the old amusement park they were once used at. You could talk about the history of restoring them, taking the old and broken bumper cars and turning them into something that fits modern safety standards.

There are some downsides to this, of course. Vintage items come in two forms; expensive, and broken. Either way, you’ll probably be paying a bit more for them than you’d pay for new bumper cars. Either you have to pay more in order to buy them in the first place, or you have to pay more in order to get them fixed up and ready to work. This is something that you have to take into account before you start looking for vintage bumper cars.

However, if you have the money to spend, it could well be a sound investment. After all, you’ll make the money you spend right back after you put the rides into place. People will flock to your amusement park to have the same kind of fun that their parents and grand parents had, and you’ll be able to simply rake in the money.
