You’ve packed the entire family in the station wagon, and you’re headed to the amusement park. Okay, fast forward a few decades, and you’re in the family car, whatever it might be, and you’re still headed to the amusement park. It’s been a hallmark of family fun for many years, and there’s nothing like enjoying all the rides with the ones you love.

And then the ones you love show up at the amusement park. The kids are fighting, your spouse isn’t feeling so well, and everyone wants to go in different directions. It’s something like that, right? Or, maybe after trekking through the park after awhile and riding rides, everyone is thirsty, hungry, needs to use the restroom and just plain needs a break.

No matter if you’re just arriving or wanting that much needed break with the kiddos, a train ride for the kids is the perfect solution. It will be something they thoroughly enjoy, and it benefits you as well. Not only does everyone get to rest and take a break, but you get to take a good look at what all is inside the amusement park.

The train rides are usually perimeter rides, in which you get a good view of everything that is going on. The Ferris Wheel is another option for this, but a train ride takes you around the entire park. Sometimes, you can get off at certain exits after seeing what part of the park is perfect for exploring next.

You can usually bring food and drink on the train, and this gives everyone a chance to sit and eat together in a unique way. Do you have grandma with you or an older aunt, uncle or friend? If Grandma is with you, she surely is looking forward to the train ride. When you guys get off, she might even wave goodbye. In all seriousness, a train ride is the perfect solution if you have older people with you.

Last time I was on a train ride for kids, it was actually in a wildlife park. The kids were able to feed the animals as they passed through the forest. It was really neat, and I remembered going there as a child. That time, however, I was with the kids at the summer camp I was running.

Take those kids on a train ride for the perfect amusement park activity. It’s even a great idea at night, as the park scenery changes and everyone is winding down.
