Summer is truly a time when memories are made for children – memories that will last a lifetime. Why not go all out for your little ones this season, by throwing the very best back yard party in the world? Here are four ways to make sure your children have one unforgettable time:

1. An Inflatable Slip And Slide

Especially if you live in a warm climate, your kids are going to have a ball cooling off with an inflatable slip and slide in the backyard. Make sure you have the running room for it and that all objects (chairs, dog house, other toys etc.) are taken out of the way of the children’s play area. Also, see that the kids using the slip and slide are of the right age and that they are given the lowdown on safety, such as to avoid pushing and shoving and to never add objects, like obstacles to jump over, on the slide itself. Slip and slides require a constant stream of water, too, thus you may want to check with your local town hall if there are any restrictions on water use for the day(s) your slip and slide will be active.

2. A Gigantic Bouncy House

Have yard, will play! Few things are more exciting to kids than an awesome bouncy house, and you can have one set up in your backyard in a matter of minutes. Renting one should mean it comes with the inflation device, but they can also be picked up relatively cheaply at a home goods store. Always have an adult or mature child keep watch over the bouncy house, to avoid overly rambunctious little ones from flying too high or bouncing too hard.

3. A Pair Of Ponies

Boys and girls alike stand in awe of ponies and the entire neighborhood will be lined up in your yard for a glimpse or ride. When organized and supervised properly, pony rides can be a great experience for little ones. You might even consider charging admission to your yard party, in order to cover the cost of the pony rental. Be prepared with cameras in hand to capture the memories, and keep a shovel nearby for quick clean up!

4. Your Kids’ Favorite Super Hero

Every kid has a hero and just about every hero can be rented for a day. Your yard, though, should be set up for a grand entrance. For example, decorate in the same colors your child’s super hero will be wearing or set up props to mimic the idol’s real habitat. The appearance of a super hero will leave your kids in awe, but make sure to keep the identity of the guest a total surprise!

Have your whole neighborhood talking about your back yard summer parties for years – and your own children in awe of what you did for them! With a little creativity, planning and oversight, your kids will have the best summer ever.
